A short, hilly walk close to London. We climb to the top of Box Hill and White Hill in the morning to enjoy the views before stopping for lunch in a pretty hamlet.
The route starts by crossing the River Mole on stepping stones, before going steeply up steps on the North Downs Way to the top of Box Hill, to enjoy views out over the valley. The route then follows Box and Yew woods before you drop down Juniper Top, which also enjoys fine views.
There is then a second steep climb up White Hill onto Mickleham Downs and down to the pretty village of Mickleham.
After lunch, we have 2 options for returning to Boxhill through Norbury park. Either along the river and rail line, or up to the top of the ridge to enjoy more views of the valley on our way back.
