This weekend is now open to anyone, you do not have to participate in the navigation training.
This weekend is for members who want to enhance their map reading skills. It is suitable for those fairly new to navigation and to those who already have some basic map reading skills. The objective is for participants to have increased confidence in their map reading skills by the end of the weekend. Emphasis will be on route finding using map and compass and analysing the map in detail. The whole weekend will be used to practise these skills outdoors on an informal basis.
As a follow-up to the training, all participants signing up to this weekend will be paired-up and be expected to lead an Ibex day walk later in the year (help with this will be provided).
Our accommodation is Fox Tor bunkhouse, adjacent to the popular Fox Tor Café (has excellent cakes!). It is situated in Princetown which is in the middle of Dartmoor.
Please note: You need to be an Ibex member to attend this event.
You should contact the organiser of this weekend away - David Watts - to enquire about spaces available.
Please read our weekend away FAQs before booking.
