Celebrate the end of the Covid restrictions with a long weekend in Cumbria and the North Pennines. This weekend will extend over an extra day in recognition of the travel distance from London. You’ll need to book the Friday off work, as we arrive on the Thursday night and head back on Sunday afternoon.
The area is designated an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty and a UNESCO Global Geopark. It’s a stunning landscape of open heather moors and peatlands, attractive dales and hay meadows. Something of a hidden gem, quiet and peaceful.
There’s lots of walking in the local vicinity, and we’re also an hour’s drive from the Lake District, giving access to the Skiddaw, Ullswater and Haweswater areas.
Accommodation is Haggs Bank bunkhouse, four miles from Alston. We have sole occupancy. There are three bunkrooms (one with ensuite), a nice conservatory to seat the whole group, comfortable lounge, well-equipped kitchen and a gas barbecue.
The deposit is via PayPal and a payment request will be sent to you by email and you will be notified by email when the payment has been made.
You should contact the organiser of this weekend away - James Hancock - to enquire about spaces available.
Please read our weekend away FAQs before booking.
